Say hello to your home away from home!
What makes your stay with us amazing?
We believe it’s important for each student to have their own private sanctuary in order to retreat inwards, reflect, and recharge after an intense day of class. Each room is furnished with a wardrobe, table and chairs, and a private bathroom. Heating and AC is included in every room, free of charge.
Everyday we prepare three yogic, vegetarian home-cooked meals for you. Every meal is made with love – prepared from fresh, local ingredients, including vegetables from our own garden!
We are situated in the heart of a vibrant and historic yoga community: Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh – cradled between the vast Himalayan mountain range and the magnificent Ganga river.
Rest assured! To ensure that you feel comfortable in your home away from home, we’ve setup a 24/7 security camera monitoring system in all three of our hotels, as well as a friendly front-desk reception.
In contrast to other yoga schools, all of these creature comforts are included with your tuition.
Relax and recharge in Rishikesh
Vinyasa Yoga School is situated in the heart of Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh – cradled between the vast Himalayan mountain range and the magnificent Ganga river. Our 3 living quarters collectively form a small community in the center Laxman Jhula (all are only 10 steps away from each other!)
Classes and communal areas are held in the top floors of Hotel Saraswati
How to get to Rishikesh
Most of our students fly into the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi (DEL).
The Delhi airport is about 250km (or 155 miles) away from our school, so you have several ways to get here.
Get a private taxi
We arrange for many of our students to be picked up directly from the airport and driven straight to their comfy room at Vinyasa Yoga School.
The drive is about 6-8 hours depending on traffic, and it’s about 4500 Rupees (or roughly $70 USD). A lot of our students also choose to split the cost of their ride with another student (and bond before the course starts as well.)
Take a public train
Trains are a great way to meet locals and strike up great conversations. There is a public train system that runs between Delhi and Haridwar (a neighboring city of Rishikesh). After Haridwar, you can take a bus or taxi into Rishikesh.
Fly to Dehradun
You can fly into the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (DED), which is only about 20km (12 mi) away from Rishikesh.
Alternatively, you should also check if a flight from your home country to Dehradun is about the same cost as a flight to Delhi, as you’d save about 5-10 hours in land travel time.
"In general, all my fears and apprehension about going to India were quelled. I lived really comfortably and healthily during my month at the school (hot water, WiFi, security, and other creature comforts) and we had a great group of locals and foreigners to show us around and give us the time of our lives in Rishikesh."
